Hewlett-Packard invented a technology to deliver rich, clear photographs on
the web that can be enlarged without losing resolution. We designed two sets
of controls (for stand-alone and browser versions) for panning, zooming,
saving, printing, and other functions. Design for this kind of interface is
best when it allows people to focus on what they care about, the photograph
they are looking at. The interface itself excels by staying out of the way,
occupying minimal screen space and presenting simple, clear iconography for
controls.
